As usual, you have done it again... This is a perfect pic symbolizing destruction. The mighty city lies in ruins. Nobody can match up to a dragon after all.The flames on the buildings have been done well and the silhouette of the dragon is very nice too. The only flaw that i can point out in the pic is that there is not a single human carcass in sight. It wold have been more realistic to have a few human bodes lying around. It is otherwise a brilliant pic (as always) and i look forward to your next artwork. Great job Moonchild....
Dang dude, I just read this scene a week ago! This is great; your works continue to be a big inspiration for me to keep practicing and refining my digital painting skills. Paint on, Moonchild!
Of all the pictures I've ever seen of Smaug, I think this is my favorite. I really like how he's in the distance, without too much detailing, giving him a more mysterious and almost mythical quality. It would be quite beautiful, if not the wreckage and ruin that's much closer, reminding the viewer that this is a malevolent being. It really does feel like we, the viewer, is hiding, just daring to peek out and get a glimpse of this terrible monster, hoping he doesn't turn and see us.
I really like this more subtle presentation of the dragon, as if you were a spectator on the horrible event rather than facing the dragon yourself like the hero. There is realism to it.
