Staying alert. Two words that when put together towards any high tension situations can mean a great deal of things that could mean life or death. Dropping your guard for even half of a second could result in your death as well as the deaths of others. High stakes combat, sometimes air to low-orbit combat, can be a mentally and physically draining activity that gives you as much to lose as you have to gain from it all. INTERCEPTORS by the talented *moonxels, gives us an excellent and dynamic representation of the adrenaline fueled ride that is aerial combat.

As per usual with many of *moonxels paintings, this one pulls out all the stops to display the many details in the shot. The billowing clouds as they lick the surfaces of the air crafts as the blaze through the skies and the various indentations and markings on their hulls gives a great feeling of both realism and motion as they almost glide across the canvas. The interior of the cockpit is the most eye-catching of it all. The various displays and buttons with simultaneous back lighting gives the look of a real cockpit. The pilot's helmet even shows a great sense of detail with both the texture used on the helmet and even some of the markings on its surface give a great look of use and slight age.

As well done as the presentation of the image is, there are still some things that could be done to perfect it further. Some of the lights on the inside of the cockpit appear to have been blurred slightly more than some of the others and there are some other lights that just appear flat. Unless an illusion of depth-of-field is being created inside of the cockpit, this particular part needs to be modified a bit and cleaned up for consistency.

Aside from the blur in the lights, that barely changes the fact that this is still quite the amazing piece design. With great detail and use of coloring as well as lighting, this is one piece that will feel right at home in your favorites gallery. Good work as always. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c…" width="20" height="20" alt="" title="Clap"/>
