I,mother earth by moonxels I,mother earth by moonxels
Mankind vanished from the Earth and went to another planet centuries ago , leaving behind ruins and ashes, an extremely polluted atmosphere ... a dead planet.
They left, leaving behind the huge statue of Gaia, Mother Earth, in a gigantic dome containing the last relics of nature (seeds, etc. ..)
Centuries later, against all odds, nature has reclaimed it's rights and these innocent animals have unwittingly found the source of this miraculous revival...

this image actually comes from a dream I had :
I was flying over this scenery ,but it was a way bigger place and I had to fly quite some times to get to this statue... there was a lot of pilars like the ones on the sides of the statue with water flowing from everywhere and from the top of this place to the greenish ground flying in rotations all around this place was a joy ,it was a marvelous dream and my picture doesn't do any justice to my vision...

The first thing that dazzles the mind is the sheer magnitude of the statue of place where the statue of Gaia is placed.

The tiny details and textures on the trees and hands is an excellent touch to the piece.
Although I would have liked more of the textures and/or deterioration in the body of the statue, but reading your comments, I think it was wise to leave it as it is, and the graininess is good to resemble the texture.

A more voluminous hair would have been good for the statue as the current hair makes it look like braids. Other than this, the shadows, and even the painting of water is beautiful!

This is an amazing piece of work and I loved discovering it in my watchers lists this evening.

What I like about this is how the statue is obviously very old and while the plants have colonised the rest of the land, they have left the statue completely unmarked. No lichen, no moss, not even water damage. This to me plays on the mystic feeling of the image of nature being almost holy.

I appreciate the correctness of the female anatomy with nature having breasts calved into the rock.

Perhaps it's the perspective but her neck does look a little long, reminisce of the pre-Raphaelite Dante Rossetti who had a thing for long necks too.

I would have liked to have seen more dome, something that says "high tech was here", as it stands it does feel very enclosed, but more ancient builders than high tech apologetic future humans.

I love the plants, rocks, water and animals, all are really very well rendered. The reflections, the style, the accuracy are all a testament to the artists skills. I do feel though a slightly more likely shade of green would have contrasted and added to the idea that these plants are revitalised. But it's up to the lighting that you can foresee falling on the ground from the holes.

I love the lighting too. It's great, the steam coming off the water fall, the heady air that you can almost touch. I can't wait to dive into the artist's gallery and have a look at more of their work.

I love that idea, humanity leaving and there being new utopia on Earth.

really full of serenity and grace :D

your last note about the matching between vision and its art feeling inadequate is the same one Lovecraft felt many times (and to be honest i sensed that some times, just in my case the mind-art gap is wider and wider than yours ^^)

A teacher i had used to say "the skill in art is not to imagine a great and new beauty in your head, everyone can do that, the real deal is moving your hands so that the work resembles the mind image the more it possible)
The ideal would be that one's hand could exactly recreate the abstract fantasy :D

all these philosostuffs aside (and was exactly a philosophy professor)
congrats and keep up the stunning work :D
