This is a simply spectacular image. The colours used are superb an the style in which it has been done is excellent.I especially like the villains face. You have managed to portray him as a vicious being. i also like how the heroines face is not shown. It gives the viewer the opportunity to wonder "What must be going through her mind?" , "I expression one of determination and courage or one of fear", the concept is beautiful. I also like the heroines armor, the only change i would have made would be to make her hair a fair bit longer..... Otherwise it is an amazing pic, obviously made by a master artist I hope you keep making drawings like these and posting them for us to see...
Funtastic. Very different from any LoTR art I've ever seen, moves very far away from just being art based on the movies.
I love how horrendous the fel beast is, it's a very grotesque creature with bizarre anatomy. One thing I look for in monsters isn't just "OH it's scary, and it has sharp fangs, and claws." I look for things that make one wonder "What in heaven's name IS that thing?!" And this really captures that; It's not just frightening, it's very alien.
I absolutely love the iridescent effect on the beast's head. It's reminiscent of the way black insect chitin catches light, which looks fantastic on the black scales. It seems to end very abruptly on the top half of the beast's head, and it seems like the rest of its face doesn't catch the light at all in the same way.
The posing is an overall improvement from the last rendition. And there is a lot more realistic detail jam packed into every space. However, as one of the biggest drawbacks, all those details have become very blurry. I liked the sharp clarity of the first version. But this one is just a bit too hazy, bright, and surreal, and it really interferes with all that great detail.
Overall, the design is a very unique one as far as Lord of The Rings art goes. Regardless, it still retains the message of courage against impossible odds that the scene is about.
