Elder Ent 1 by moonxels Elder Ent 1 by moonxels
エルダートレント
Elder torent lvl 1 (winter version) out of 4 lvl
'rage of Bahamut' (iOS/Android)

edit: those cards are working as "evolution" and there are 4 stages for each cards, so it's not just standing there, the art changes each time you are "evolving" , so you are only seeing one stage at a time and there's no need to change the whole composition or the pose.
best way to understand would be to play the game ;)

one other stage is here:

The first thing I thought was wow. That really looks like a tree creature. The bark/skin of the Ent is very very much like how you did the trees around it. The extra lines and craggy nature along with the warmer colors highlighting the Ent just worked to make it look more alive. Even in the shaded areas the brown colors you chose were warmer and helped with the impression of life.

In the background, with all those trees very nicely done, the space around it's head helped to keep me looking at the Ent. If the trees were any closer on the left side I would have been looking at them much sooner. On that note the greenish shade on that side makes me think of moss, which is good, because I get the feeling this Ent is far from his home. It helps give the idea that it's on a journey and only paused for a moment here.

The only thing I wonder at, is his nose. You did very well with the beard and eyes falling in the line of the wood and looking natural, but the nose just seems too human and out of place with the rest of the piece.

So, in all, very well done. The Ent is lifelike without being too humanish and less tree like, the background is amazing and with the slight blur it keeps from overwhelming the focus of the painting, the Ent. The animals were a nice touch, they give me the feeling that an Ent isn't that odd to them, more like a very odd part of nature.

Mr fox looks uncertain about going for those rabbits anywhere close to an ent. Having those particular mammals there makes the winter ent seem more immobile than the summer ent in your "Elder ent 3".  On the other hand there is no snow gathering on his arms or on his head as is the case for tree branches around him, and this contradicts the illusion of near-perfect immobility created by the behavior of the mammals.

Apart from that "contradiction" (which I found only by studying the drawing very carefully) this is just as stunning an image as the summer ent.
